Ronald Epstein

MD, Author of 'Attending: Medicine, Mindfulness and Humanity'

Ronald Epstein, MD, is a family physician, teacher, researcher and writer who has devoted his career to understanding and improving patient-physician communication, quality of care and clinician mindfulness. Dr. Epstein directs Mindful Practice Programs at the University of Rochester in New York state where he is professor of Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Oncology and Medicine (Palliative Care). He is the recipient of numerous lifetime achievement awards related to communication and humanism, and has published more than 250 articles and book chapters. His first book, Attending: Medicine, Mindfulness and Humanitywas released in January 2017.
